imagistic Builds Online Resource for Teaching Tolerance Through Music

VENICE, CALIFORNIA - February 20, 2003 - Teaching Tolerance and the Southern Poverty Law Center launched a new initiative to help teachers and parents educate children about other cultures through music and song.

Internet Software and Services firm, imagistic developed the online component of the initiative, called "I Will Be Your Friend", where users can order a free 26-song package that invites students to sing along on a musical journey through Native American chant, African American poetry, songs of friendship and belonging from immigrant communities across the U.S., and classics from our nation's proud tradition of singing for social change.

The site, accessible through www.teachingtolerance.org provides song clips and classroom activities to accompany the songs.

imagistic provides ongoing services for Teaching Tolerance and the Southern Poverty Law Center, building www.teachingtolerance.org site and the online component for the Mix It Up Campaign (www.mixitup.org) targeted to teens.
