imagistic Helps Boston University Introduce New Web Site in Time for Busy College Admission Season

VENICE, CALIFORNIA - September 18, 2002 - Just in time for this year's college admissions season, Boston University has introduced a significant upgrade to its Web site (http://www.bu.edu/admissions) that dramatically streamlines the application process.

Developed by Internet software and services firm Imagistic, the new site makes it easy for prospective students to learn about academic and student life at BU. Among other things, students can:

Schedule a campus visit, including lunch in a dining hall or a class audit, via an interactive admissions calendar;
Find all application materials easily and intuitively, including scholarship and financial aid information, application timelines, guidelines for international or transferring students, and early decision instructions;
Take a "Day in the Life" virtual tour to hear about student life from the perspective of current students;
Submit and track the status of their applications online.

As part of the assignment, Imagistic developed custom applications including a robust content management system and a calendaring system.

"The world of university admissions is quite competitive, with the first contact between school and student being made as early as students' freshman years in high school," said Michael Weiss, founder and chief executive officer of Imagistic. "The redevelopment of this site not only increases efficiencies and saves costs for Boston University, but it also gives them a platform from which to launch ongoing CRM initiatives."
