imagistic Launches culturecloud.com

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CALIFORNIA – January 2007 – Imagistic is proud to announce that it has launched http://www.culturecloud.com. A fourteen-month development process has finally come to an end and the site is live. culturecloud was created to connect users and ideas through the unique presentation of tagging and tag clouds.

It’s a new neighborhood thriving on the assumption that by assembling seemingly random pieces of intricate knowledge and making them available to everyone, one can push into uncharted territory and see how everything’s connected.

Site highlights:

  • The tags that users supply when writing content are at the heart of how one idea links to another just like the human mind – connecting several seemingly unrelated points that end up creating a fascinating result.
  • The tags are then organized into clouds, which is defined as the space where subject-related tags crowd around each other to create a visual representation. The tags are displayed inside the cloud so that the larger each tag’s font size, the more popular or referenced the subject is.
  • Types of clouds include cloudmember clouds, which show those users who are interested in a particular topic. Personal clouds are made up of ID tags (chosen words or phrases that a user picks to describe themselves) and tags from articles a user has written. When mousing over a user’s name on the site, a rollover cloud is displayed, which is a small assembly of tags offering a quick snapshot into who that user is.
  • The Zeitgeist section offers a number of ways to discover the content and people on culturecloud. From the top-rated, to the most contentious, to the undiscovered.
