Sir Speedy

Overview:

The world's largest printing, copying, and document management franchisor serving small and mid-sized businesses, Sir Speedy is a customer-driven organization with more than four decades of success under its parent company, Franchise Services.

Aiming to serve the needs of their 6,300 affiliate employees, Sir Speedy called on imagistic to build a robust Extranet to replace their existing Microsoft SharePoint solution, which housed thousands of documents.

Solution:

Leveraging iDMS (the imagistic Document and Content Management System), we met and exceeded Sir Speedy's needs, allowing the franchisor to capitalize on many new features and benefits. Highlights include:

• Providing ground-up technology enhancements allowing users to upload and manage documents and add/edit/delete content and graphics through an easy-to-use, cross-browser and cross-platform WYSIWYG editor
• Enabling multi-level security and workflow processes, including content approvals, emailed expiration notification and in-system content editing
• Replacing Microsoft's SharePoint Server with a thin footprint application built in ColdFusion MX and SQL Server 2000
• Offering a re-designed look & feel with usability enhancements for a more contemporary and effective user experience
• Extending the out-of-the-box user creation functionality, including customized login authentication, along with expanded search and results filtering features
• Customizing operations, expirations and tracking reporting

Results:

Meeting Sir Speedy's launch date of June 2006, imagistic delivered a product which literally received an enthusiastic round of applause at an affiliate conference where it was presented for release to senior level management.

In June 2007, imagistic won an American Business Award for Intranet site of the year for the Sir Speedy Extranet.
