VENICE – March 2002 – Los Angeles based LA Works, in conjunction with Venice based Technology firm, Imagistic, announce the re-launch of www.la-volunteer.org, the LA Works Web site and volunteer information portal.

LA Work's mission is to increase volunteer participation in the Los Angeles area and provide community service organizations access to much needed volunteer labor and resources. The organization plans and manages several dozen diverse volunteer events on a monthly basis ranging from one-time projects to long-term, ongoing projects. Volunteer projects are diverse and include such things as tutoring children, providing assistance at food distribution centers, beautifying public school campuses and graffiti eradication. LA Works is also known for their annual LA Works Day, where several hundred volunteers come together on one day and participate in dozens of projects across the city.

The new Web site will allow interested volunteers to access information about LA Works and the volunteer opportunities available to them. For existing volunteers and volunteer project managers, the site provides easy access to the event calendar and needed forms and information. In addition, community service organizations interested in becoming an LA Works Community Service Partner can obtain information on the site.

LA Works Executive Director, Eric Roth, states, "This is a time of unprecedented and welcome community involvement. People are eager to go beyond themselves and help others. Our new site makes it easy to join in and participate."

All development services for the site were provided by Imagistic; an established Los Angeles Web technology company that recently developed the Teaching Tolerance.org Web site for the Southern Poverty Law Center.

L.A. Works was founded in 1991 by a group of concerned citizens from the Entertainment, Business and Government sectors. On a weekly basis, L.A. Works offers a variety of community service projects. L.A. Works' volunteers work hand-in-hand with hundred of non-profit social service agencies throughout the city in order to improve the quality of life in our community.
