VENICE – December 2001 – The Tolerance.org and TeachingTolerance.org Web sites produced in collaboration with Venice based Technology Services firm Imagistic, have been awarded a prestigious Electronic Multi Media Award (EMMA) in the Education-Reference category.

Tolerance.org and TeachingTolerance.org are the Web initiatives of Alabama based non-profit organization Southern Poverty Law Center. The mission of SPLC is to eradicate hate and racial bias through legal channels and education.

The portion of the site developed by Imagistic, TeachingTolerance.org, is primarily used as a resource for educators. It provides news, insights and strategies on combating hate and encouraging tolerance among students in and out of the classroom. The site contains information on responding to hate incidents as well as teacher forums and age specific lesson plans and online activities. Imagistic also developed a section of the site called Planet Tolerance. The Planet Tolerance area is a robust activity and information center targeting students and focusing on tolerance and acceptance of others.

Imagistic worked with SPLC to develop the look and feel, information architecture and flow, content publishing capabilities and various content components of the site.
